Revolutionary Communist at Work: A political biography of Bert Ramelson

Regular price £10.00

"With others on the left Bert Ramelson helped to develop a mass movement based on organised workers which was strong enough to block anti-trade union legislation and protect workers' rights. We badly need such a movement today, with an even broader canvas. Much can be learned about how to do this from studying Bert's life." - Rodney Bickerstaffe, former TUC President

A landmark biography of a remarkable man who lived a remarkable life.

Bert Ramelson was the Communist Party's Industrial Organiser at the height of the mass labour movement struggles of the 1960s and '70s. He was also a Spanish civil war veteran who fought in the second world war who was born into a Jewish Ukrainian ghetto.

This carefully researched book by Professor Roger Seifert and Tom Sibley recounts the tale of a man who grew up to become one of the leading Communists at a time when the party - and labour - were well and truly on the march.
